One of my hacker-ish projects was featured on digg.com. It completely ripped my home network infrastructure asunder.
I will be moving my home network infrastructure to something a little more robust in the coming weeks. :-)

Hey. I wanted to e-mail you, but you don’t seem to have contact details. But, ugh, I’m not a fan of weblogs and “comments”. Anyway. Someone just showed me your 8088 demo and I was really impressed. It’s the kind of thing I love. I grew up with (among other things) a Sinclair Spectrum, which is a British home computer of early ’80s, and that had a 3.5MHz processor and really weird screen display (15 colours, only two unique colours permitted per 8×8 character cell, hence strange blocky effects in games) and, you know, people’re still making quite cool demos for *that* hardware – I’ve seen multicolour that “shouldn’t be possible” and flaky realtime 3D and rudimentary lightsourcing. Hardware changes so quickly now, and I have a lot of admiration for people who’ll squeeze a lot out of the old stuff instead of upgrading every 6 months. (When I was a kid, I wanted to get into video games, but now the industry sickens me – heh, business software ain’t so thrilling either though.) Anyway, excuse the babbling. Great work, I loved it.

Thanks for the kind words. I have always loved demos for older hardware since it shows what you can do with two decades of knowledge but exactly the same hardware.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been more IBM PC oldskool demos — probably because, since the PC is *still here*, people haven’t thought about it.
